I just recently bought your CD Music United for Animals from one of the animal rescue groups that had a fundraiser this weekend near me. I have to tell you that I cannot listen to it without weeping. It tears me apart to think of the suffering and when you hear it in a song it is heartbreaking. Thank you for making a statement for the animals in your music. I have been a volunteer with my local humane society for almost 10 years. They need all the voices they can get.

The animals of the world celebrate your birth day, too, and wish they could send you a choir of barks, meows, moos, neighs, chirps, quacks, baa-s...to thank *YOU* for being their earthly voice. Through the beauty and power of your voice and words you have shared their stories and feelings and raised universal awareness of their suffering. Today is their/our day to honor you. If you like Tina Turner, Joss Stone and Joan Jett, you will love Maria Daines. I have all her CD's and they are riveting, poignant, captivating and emotional. She's also a veritable Saint who loves the animal kingdom. "Music United For Animals" is a nonpareil and seminal CD. A must buy for all music fans and animal lovers.

Your voice and Paul's guitar are perfect to accompany the slides show we have been preparing about the plight of animals in Greece. It's being uploaded as I write this and will be 'on line' in 2-3 hours time. It would be great if you could mention it 'somewhere' on your website. At the end of the slides show it's mentioned that the accompanying music is by you & Paul.

I came across your music and now I cant get enough of it. I listen to it all the time. As a animal owner and having done dog rescue for 3 yrs. your songs are amazing and they hit home hard. I want to thank you so much for the hard work and the pictures of the reality others dont want to show. You have a special gift to sing about the animals. I love your music and with me driving on long trips from Phoenix ,az to mexico ( where I see alot of the skinny dogs ) for my job , it hurts me to see them there and then see them dead from starvation. Is there at anytime that you are going to be able to help those in Mexico ??? These dogs are now being electrocuted to death instead of being beaten by the police / military. I wish that there was a way to raise enough to help them . Great job.

Thank you for your beautiful music. It's painful knowing how many animals suffer due to human ignorance. We know animal abuse is out there, we cry but we don't give up. I live near Dallas, where Mercy lived & died; her killer was sentenced to only 4 years in prison, with his family proclaiming his love of animals. My own crew is 3 rescued dogs: an American Pit Bull Terrier bred large and sold as a fighting dog, a Greyhound mix, and a senior mutt. Your music is beautiful, and your cause is righteous. Thank you for both.

Your songs are beautiful, yet painful. It is so painful to know of all the horrible stories, yet I continue to torture myself by being informed. It makes me very much dislike the human race. I can only write a few letters and smother my own animals with unconditional love. Thank you for writing your songs.

What a beautiful song. I cried when I read about the story, and even more so, when I heard the song. It breaks my heart, that there are some callous people out there, but it always bring me joy, when I hear of crusades against this type of behavior, and those people who refuse to let those get away with it. I hope everyone signs that petition to convict those terrible boys.

Maria, I'm listening to Tobey's song over and over and over again. I can't deal with what happened to him and can't make any sense of it.
Your song is helping no end. It can't bring him back or take away what he endured but it can help to heal those who have to digest what happened to him and reel daily from the horrors of animal abuse such as this.
Thank you for writing such a beautiful song and doing something so special for that little soul. Somewhere out there he knows how much people care.

I have been following this painful and heartbreaking story since this happened. My heart breaks everytime I see her pic. I have it on my computer to help me to never give up on fighting animal abuse / BSL etc. Seeing her face makes me want to keep going when I think all is for not. Every video that I can put her pic in for awareness on BSL / animal abuse / and how kind dogs are when loved... Mercy is in it and I will also make sure she is NEVER forgotten. Beautiful song and so fitting for a beautiful soul taken to early. Be at Peace Mercy... we may not have even met you but you touched our hearts to the core.
