Hi Maria

Love the songs I've heard - thank you for what you do. I'm an author currently working with the Association of Dogs' and Cats' Homes on a collection of heartwarming (somtimes heartbreaking) true dog rescue stories in verse, 'Doggerel', to raise money for the charities and raise awareness of the joys of rescuing a dog. My agents Watson Little have been trying to think of a way to turn the verses into a MUSICAL (if 'Cats' why not 'Dogs'). Would you be interested in our project? We'e got 'Dogs Today' mag on board, and a possible sponsor. Very kind regards

Hi it's Dr. A. Great to meet you last Saturday at the bikers bash for the departed Ghurka. Loved your set (hard act to follow especially with blues, without the whole band)however your orig CD Wisdom's Tooth is my kind of stuff, excellent and thank you.
The annual Rock & Blues Festival at Butlins, Skegness, last weekend of Jan., would be ideal for you if you can get through the cronyism of messers Barton & Stocker, if you are not already playing try Peter Barton on 01200 444 544 or 0771 2628366. My mob are there on the Jaks Stage as guests of Blues Matters on Friday night. Hope our paths cross again.
In peace and harmony David (Dr. A)

Hi Maria and Paul
Thank you so much for Ebru's song.. after spending the last 2+ weeks with so many of Turkeys street dogs the look in their eyes is so very fresh , all they ask for is kindness and of course food and water is always an added bonus.

The "Shelter Me CD" is very poignant and emotive as Maria's vocals are so compelling, fervent, compassionate and determined. A fantastic CD by Maria and Paul who have joined the ranks with Paul McCartney, Chrissie Hynde and Morrissey to make the world a better place for animals. Great riffs by Paul augment Maria's powerful vocals on the 5 Star" Rescue Me" CD treasure.

Oh absolutely love love love the Staffie song !!! :) Doesn't it as all your songs do - put out that message, but this is unique and will hold the attention of everyone who hears it ! xoxo

April 15, 2009

Oh no! I just poured my heart out to you in a post and then got an error message, so I don't know if my previous post is awaiting approval, or if it got lost in the ether. LOL.

I first discovered you with the release of THE RAINBOW BRIDGE, 2 years ago this month (RIP, sweet Angel Mercy!). I was blown away. I e-mailed you to ask for permission for my husband and his duo partner to cover the song, and you graciously granted it.

My love for your music ~ and respect for you ~ grows with each song I hear. You take my breath every time.

For 12 years, I was the booking agent for my husband's band. Until our economy went into the bin I was doing quite well. ;-) I would love to find a way to bring your band to the US ~ maybe for an Animal Rights tour ( the ASPCA and HSUS might be able to combine funds to make it happen). This is a big dream of mine.

You and Paul have an amazing talent for speaking to us all. Thank you for the gifts you give your fans, and for being the voice of the animals of this planet. There will be a huge crowd waiting to greet you years from now, when your time comes to cross the Rainbow Bridge.

Susan Ayres Lynch

April 15, 2009

I first discovered you when Mercy's story came to light 2 years ago this week. Your song, "The Rainbow Bridge" moved me beyond words, and I sent you an e-mail requesting your permission for my husband and his duo partner to cover the song. You generously granted permission.

That song moved me to the core of my being. Evrey time I hear a new song from the two of you, I am knocked out again! You're simply amazing. Thank you for the gifts you deliver over and over again to your fans, and thank you for being the voice of the animals.

You are a wonderful singer I love what you do for the Animals.. thanks your friend Terri

Hi Maria and Paul,
First of all what a great opening song you have on here at the moment.
Just been at Soundclick where I've added a whole new batch of your songs to my "SIMPLY MARIA" station....(how could I have missed them before)
You still amaze me with your all round exceptional talent.
The song "Karley", the story behind it, and the way you describe what Paul said when you came to write it, speaks volumes.
It's the finest example of a couple of fine and passionate musicians totally in tune with one another, in every way.

The resonant vocals and compelling music composed and performed by the Maria Daines band is doing more for the animal kingdom than and any other performer and/or band on the planet. Maria knows that as long as we have slaughterhouses and animal abuse we will continue to have battlefields and wars.

February 3, 2009

Dear Maria, Paul, and all that have participated in this peaceful initiative to aid in saving lives through the music of Maria Daines and Paul Killington and their next animal welfare CD, Shelter Me.

We want to extend our deep gratitude to each and every one of you that participated through leaving comments on the Peace Wins The Election video and sharing this initiative with your communities.

Our goal at the team of Keep The Green Alive was to bring people together in a positive common cause with the hope that 1,000 different people would leave 1,000 comments so we could donate the full $1,000.00 Cdn. Funds to Maria and Paul on your behalf toward the first 500 pressings of their CD, Shelter Me.

At this time, midnight eastern standard time, January 31 2009, there are 409 individuals that have shown the power of community through standing up and being counted in for the long haul. The demonstration of this community has humbled us with your amazing participation and comments. Whether it was a word or two, a sentence, or even a paragraph written here, the feeling of hope and encouragement reined supreme and still does!

The theme of hope is what we are all striving towards in wanting to have a better future for us all, humans, animals, sea life and plant life alike. Some comments here specifically resonate with a hope that Maria and Paul will reach their goal in this worthy cause.

In my discussions with Greg Allen about the awarding of the donations in kind, we are happy to be able to give Maria and Paul $409.00 Canadian funds toward their CD. However, we also decided, that due to the amazing show of community support here, we will be awarding the full $1,000.00 Canadian funds to Maria and Paul with honour and pleasure.

On behalf of Paul D. Richmond, Greg Allen, the team of Keep The Green Alive, and, the 409 participants in creating the gift of giving through leaving comments on the Peace Wins The Election video, we are very happy to be able to give Maria Daines and Paul Killington $1,000.00 Canadian funds to put towards the pressing and release of the first 500 copies of your animal welfare CD, Shelter Me.

Thank you all for your absolutely amazing support and community spirit. We remain your friends, Paul D. Richmond, Greg Allen and the team of, Keep The Green Alive !!!!

P.S. If you have ever wondered whom the team of Keep The Green Alive is, well, it’s all of us…peace…

Hello Maria...I was wondering. I am going to make MERCY a residency at the bridge. I know she has a page but her song isn't on there, her story wasn't told & there are no photos. I want to make her one where everyone will see her beautiful face & read her story. Do you have the photos that are on your site with the song? If so, would you mind sending them to me? You can send them to the e-mail address. Also, I am going to be making residencies for many of the doggies on your site. They need to have a forever home at the bridge & people need to read their stories. I will let you know which ones & which songs I will need sent to Ginny.
Thank you so much for caring for all of those beautiful babies...not just the doggies but ALL beautiful souls.
You & Paul are very special people.
I have lost so many to cancer, which was bad enough, but to know that so many have been abused, just breaks my heart. I would have done ANYTHING to keep my babies here with me.

Hello Maria...hope all is well. I was wondering if I could use your "RAINBOW BRIDGE" song for a group of puppies that I made a residency for at the bridge. If you would like to read their story, it is:

You & Paul do amazing work. I also listened to Little Macs' song...broke my heart. Lelja loves that baby as if he had belonged to her. But we all know that his outcome would be much different had he belonged to her.

If I could use your song for the puppies, would you send it to Ginny at...friends@rainbowbridge?

Thank you Maria.

I just recently bought your CD Music United for Animals from one of the animal rescue groups that had a fundraiser this weekend near me. I have to tell you that I cannot listen to it without weeping. It tears me apart to think of the suffering and when you hear it in a song it is heartbreaking. Thank you for making a statement for the animals in your music.
