SAD CRAZY LAW

(Maria Daines/Paul Killington)
August 28, 2009

Sad Crazy Law was written to send a strong message to UK politicians that Breed Specific Legislation, as enforced in Section 1 of the Dangerous Dogs Act, is wrong! Innocent family pet dogs should not be seized and in some cases, killed, because of their appearance. BSL does not make the streets safer, no dog is inherently dangerous because it looks a certain way. Responsible guardianship of all canine companions is what society should be striving towards and no dog should lose its life because of what it looks like.

BSL targets the wrong end of the lead!

DDA-SUICIDE

Tragic Suicide After Pet Dog Is Destroyed:

Mark Amston, aged 20 years, committed suicide in 1991 the day after he had his own dog, a pit bull terrier, destroyed, he had failed to get the compulsory insurance. The pit bull terrier ‘Sandy’ had been brought as a six week old puppy in March 1991 before the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 was introduced.

“In this case it was a family pet that had to be put down, not a fierce animal. There was no evidence that this dog was fierce. I think the lesson from this death is that legislation should be based on reason and not on panic.”

Mr Amston had left a note and it showed that he was closely attached to the dog and had decided to die with him. The note had simply read:

“Goodbye; me and Sandy will be together for ever.

Me and Sandy will never be parted again.”

Sad Crazy Law

'Dangerous' dogs you got 'em all sewn up
From your high n' mighty offices you pull out the stops
Go pick 'em up, go kill 'em off

Go clean up the streets, go snuff out their lives
Knock on every door, carve tattoos on their thighs
Go pick 'em up, go kill 'em off

Every pit bull 'type' every family pet
Don't matter if they're innocent just get, get, get!
Go pick 'em up, go kill 'em off

The law is the law and it can't be wrong
So put another bullet in the 'bad' dog's bones
Go pick 'em up, go kill 'em off

Don't matter if the suicide's too sad...
Don't worry about the tears of mum and dad...
Don't worry if the kiddies cry all day...
Your dog wagged its tail but it's goin' to die today!

This is a sad, crazy law
It's time to fight for justice, paw by paw
This is a sad, crazy law
What is it all for? Don't drag my family to war...

Bang, bang, bang there's puppies in the house
They're 'dangerous' dogs gotta put 'em all down!
Go pick 'em up, go kill 'em off

Cute little face and a wiggle in the tail
Drag the mother to the cage, breed specifically she's nailed!
Go pick 'em up, go kill 'em off

Bishop n' Bruce they had their heads in the noose
You couldn't give a damn you just wanted 'em gone
Go pick 'em up, go kill 'em off

There's no sense at the top, you just give 'em all the chop
Give a dog a bad name, it's the politicians game
Go pick 'em up, go kill 'em off.
